Quote

gryff is a Windows GUI program supporting the Ragnarok
Online ™ archive format, Grf version 1 and 2.
It uses a multiple document architecture which allows to
manage operations on several archives at a time (*).
Information on Ragnarok Online ™ is available from
http://www.ragnarokonline.com/

gryff is free software. Many features are not fully implemented,
and there are certainly many bugs. Use it at your own risk.

It only runs on Windows 2000 and higher (sorry)
Main Features are full support of Unicode, archive modification and repack. You need Korean support installed to view labels, etc. correctly.

Please use the Gryff bugtracker to report abnormal behavior or to suggest enhancements (read the README files first to see the planned features before adding a RFE!)

People who want to help on the project (writing guides, etc.) are welcome.

NEWS: (13 Aug 2005)
Revision 8 (Beta 3) is the last beta before 1.0 final release.
Please note the the SVN repository location has moved (and all info was lost).

Quote

OLD NEWS: (17 Feb 2005)
Revision 24 (>b2) has fixed most bugs for (Gryff 1.0)
Beta 3 soon. I know, I know, I have a broad definition of "soon".

OLD NEWS: (12 dec 2004)
Revision 13 (>b2) is fairly stable with some freezes in UI but it should be relatively bearable, and some crashes I've been unable to duplicate :(
Track this Bugtracker entry for what's left to be fixed for the last beta, which should be expected soon. Then a Release Candidate will be released before finalizing the 1.0 version.

PLANNED: in Gryff 1.1
Open with associated program (e.g. .spr with SPR Viewer, etc. - if possible ?)
Moving entries inside a Grf archive (e.g. from \ to \data if imported at the wrong place) This has been included in 1.0 (17 Feb 2005)
Extract file/directory - An option to specify whether ANSI or UNICODE filenames will be available, since it seems to be a popular feature.
(Possibly) Search dialog à la WinRAR. Support of RE patterns.

Wow, definetly the best GRF manager/extractor ever.

Good job on that, I'll test it when I get home.

Also if you allow me to make a suggestion, try making a Search option, where you can search for folders or file names (For those who have sprite bibles, that's really useful). I had problems to find single map files with the old GRFs where I had to extract the whole data to get just one map, it was easier to do that than to search for each file.

^_^

Thanks for the feedback ^___^

Unfortunately, I have frozen the features specs for Gryff 1.0, it shall wait till 1.1 *at least*.
Anyway, a search feature is mostly useful if you want to extract files. Nevertheless, I'd understand if you needed it to replace or delete a specific file.

And I need beta testers for the current version (revision 21-24) to hunt bugs. I've got a few in mind but may be missing a few still.

Perhaps I shall tag the current revision with beta 3; once the documentation is complete, I'll move to RC1. It is slow, but I'm doing it alone...

Latest version for now is http://hatsukoi.ff.s...-0308-r0028.rar which is way better than beta 1; still I'm a bit too lazy to work on Gryff at the moment, there are some major flows lying around :gomen:
but generally speaking it's a good release.

Finally, the era of sucky and closed source GRF extractors is over. :D I don't know why people still use timecop's GRF Factory (which crashes for me after 2 seconds). The best GRF applications are the open source ones, namely my GRF Tool and Rasqual's Gryff, both based on the open source libgrf.

Sorry, the whole hosting at FF.ST has gone down. Actually, MT has got some problems with the new owner of the FF.ST domain
Let's hope it's gonna be fixed soon. I don't have any fallback solution.

Here is a build of a slightly modded Revision 51 source:
http://yarefaq.free.fr/gryff_tmp/gryff-svn...-statically.rar
http://rapidshare.de/files/3047720/gryff-s...ically.rar.html

The executable is build statically, meaning no msvc* or grf-priv* dll required.
The archive does not contain those dlls as it does usually.

Binary only:
http://yarefaq.free....-0714-r0051.rar
Please remember the software is GPL'ed, so if you want to host the program, you need to distribute at least the first package. ^_^
